Best EDC Companion Tool?

"I've had it a month or two now and I'm thoroughly impressed. The construction is solid and nuanced, it feels great in the hand, without being too heavy in the pocket. The blades were razor sharp and have held their edge well in general use. I've been particularly pleased with the scissors, easily the best I've ever seen on a foldout. After about a week of breaking in, the outside accessible tools all open, lock and close very smoothly, even when wearing thin working gloves. I was a little concerned that the interchangeable saw/diamond file would feel a little flimsy, but it's held up really well and still feels secure. I would say the file isn't as abrasive as I'd like. Opening it up to reveal the pliers and interior tools is smooth and the locking tight. The mechanism can feel a little heavy when using the pliers, but nothing uncomfortable. No complaints with the performance of the pliers/clippers/strippers either. The opening and locking of the interior tools is excellent, they feel very secure once snapped into place and are then easily released by the spring loaded catch. They are however challenging (impossible really) to unfold while wearing gloves. Of the interior tools, the pick of the bunch for me is the interchangeable bit driver. Already equipped with a reversible phillips-flathead, when paired with a bit kit it massively increases the usefulness and adaptability of the tool. The bits themselves are a little flat (I assume to save space) and the tool doesn't provide the optimal grip for hard/tight turning. This has given me concerns about slippage and stripping, but I haven't run into any real problems yet. The other hidden tools perform their jobs admirably, the awl and can opener in particular are nice and sharp. Although, the two flathead screwdrivers wouldn't have been my choice for this tool, given the earlier mentioned bit driver. Perhaps Leatherman could include in their customisation options the ability to exchange smaller tools such as these for another? Overall, the tools are reliable, and the construction and finish fantastic. The Surge comes highly recommended for anyone interested in well rounded multi-tool for a diverse range of DIY pursuits."
